Macnabs Bar on Skye
Macnabs Bar on Skye has been part of the hotel for several hundred years and is one of the oldest bars on the Island. One famous story involves Bonnie Prince Charlie meeting with Flora Macdonald in 1746 for a final drink before they parted company before he set sail for France. The bar has since been refurbished several times but has always remained a part of the hotel. The bar now features modern conveniences such as pool table, a juke box and several flat screen televisions for showing live sport.
Macnabs Bar on Skye also features live music throughout the year ranging from traditional Scottish music in the summer months to more modern DJ music in the winter months. The bar regularly shows live sport such as Premier League football and Tennis. Bar meals are also available in MacNab’s Bar on Skye where we can also offer a selection of local Ales and whiskys. Why not enjoy a lunch of homemade soup and bread whilst sampling one of the Islands local ales?
The bar currently sells a selection of local ales such as ‘Black Face’ and ‘Pinnacle’ brewed at Sligachan distillery at the centre of the Island. Bottled Ales Skye Red, Skye Black and Hebridean Gold brewed at Uig distillery in the north of the Island are also for sale. We also have a wide variety of whisky available including the locally distilled Talisker Whisky. Talisker has won awards year on year and the 18 year old bottle was awarded the worlds best single malt whisky by the Worlds Whiskies Awards in 2007.
Macnabs Bar on Skye is perfect for unwinding after spending a day exploring the Isle of Skye. Put your feed up and enjoy a dram of local whisky while looking at photographs of your day out exploring the Island!
